| Tony
Mordente aka Action Tony Mordente appeared in
both the Broadway and London casts of "West
Side Story" in the role of A-rab. He had
previously been in the Broadway production of
"Li'l Abner," and before filming WSS he
was featured in "Bye Bye Birdie" in
addition to understudying the role of Conrad
Birdie. Non-musical roles include appearances in
"Love with the Proper Stranger"
starring Natalie Wood, and "The Longest
Day" which also featured Richard Beymer.
That he has staged
and choreographed WSS in both Japan and Los
Angeles.
His extensive
television credits include directing the popular
series "7th Heaven." He and Chita
Rivera are the parents of dancer-choreographer
Lisa Mordente.
