| Harvey
Evans aka Mouthpiece Harvey Hohnecker (now
Harvey Evans) has the distinction of having
appeared in four Broadway shows by Stephen
Sondheim.
He took over the
role of Gee Tar in the Broadway production of
"West Side Story," and later appeared
in "Gypsy," "Anyone Can
Whistle," and "Follies."
His other stage
credits include "New Girl in Town," and
"Redhead" (both for Bob Fosse),
"Hello Dolly!" "Barnum,"
"Sunset Boulevard," "Scarlet
Pimpernel," and "La Cage aux
Folles," playing opposite "West Side
Story" original cast member Lary Kert.
Harvey was
interviewed at Don't Tell Mama's in New York
City, March 2004. He told plenty of
behind-the-scenes stories about about the many
musicals he's played in over the past 45 years,
including both stage and film versions of West
Side Story, Mary Poppins, in which he was a
Chimney Sweep.
Has been the recepient of the famous Broadway Gypsy Robe Award twice, 1994 for Sunset Boulevard and in 2002 for Oklahoma.
